IS ORGANIC
PSYCHOLOGY A MISLEADING MYTH?
From The
Web of Life Imperative
If you suffer
from the illusion that increasing your thinking's connection
with nature can not produce significant improvements in your
life how do you explain the documented results of the medical
and psychological studies cited below and hundreds more like
them?
- Given a choice
between a scene with trees and one without, people of all ages
and ethnic groups from all countries prefer the scene with trees.
.
- People rejuvenate
and renew their lives by having a pet, going for a hike, keeping
a garden, or visiting a beautiful place.
.
- Surgical patients
have shorter hospitalizations, less need for pain medications,
and fewer complaints about discomfort when they have hospital
windows that overlook trees rather than brick walls.
.
- Police report
lower crime rates in areas of public housing developments that
have a density of trees.

.
- Prisoners
with cells that provided views of rolling landscapes were found
to need fewer sick calls than inmates whose cell windows overlooked
prison courtyards.
.
- Pets have
positive effects on patients with dementia. Even patients with
impaired mental abilities connect with cats or dogs.
.
- Contemporary
people who live in environments that are more natural, live longer.
.
- Post-traumatic
stress victims recover by connecting in nature to "something
larger than themselves."
.
- Natural green
areas increase children's attention and learning ability.
.
- Nature-centered
people and cultures seldom display or cause the problems that
undermine industrial society.
- People in
recovery programs from dependencies and addictions have made
extraordinary progress by using nature as a source of their higher
power
The
Web of Life Imperative is a fully accredited Integrated Ecology and
Applied Ecopsychology text and course from Project NatureConnect
at the Institute
of Global Education, a special NGO consultant to the United Nations
Economic and Social Council.
"WLI promotes
in its participants a healthy "fix." Participating
in the readings and activities with other interested and involved
participants gives your mind and body what it needs. Its important
value is that you feel so good you naturally crave more of these
experiences on your own and it makes sense rather than be harmful."

"Being in touch with my
core Essence, thus realizing my life work, is key to everything
flowing with success. WLI helps with Who Am I? Why Am I
Here? How do I Bring it Forward, and interact successfully with
others?- This is the real gift of the book and course."
.....- Gerry
Eitner
I'm at a type of limbo point
in my life and without the course I might have either stayed
in more feeling sorry for myself or done something destructive
to forget my pain. The course helped me know that where I am
is ok. By doing its simple exercises I find a clearer path.

Not only for ourselves, but for others as well. It would be pretty
selfish of us to keep all of this energy, information, and attraction
to ourselves."

"This program provides
a simple to use yet profound tool that is geared to assist those
of us living in a fast paced consumer based culture; a culture
who's side effects leave many struggling in the search to find
true sustenance and a healthy sense of power. Reconnecting with
nature has enriched my personal and professional life tremendously.
I have seen participants in my workshops and private healing
practice enthusiastically experience the intelligence and healing
effects elicited through Nature's healing touch. As a witness
to Nature's healing and teaching abilities I can confirm we humans
are wired into a brilliant web of life that longs for us to remember
home, and when we do, we not only heal ourselves we heal our
planetary home."

"The language and concepts
of WLI stay with me on a daily basis. I notice that my connection
with nature remains at the heightened level that it assumed when
I was active in the courses."

I feel I have a whole new relationship
with nature. I feel that the Earth is there to nurture me and
also wants to be nurtured by me. I definitely feel more connected,
I belong"

HAS CONTEMPORARY
SOCIETY'S EXTREMELY NATURE-DISCONNECTED THINKING AND EDUCATION
SHORTCHANGED YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND WELL BEING?
Are you uneasy
because your nature-disconnected socialization has taught you
to ignore the simple facts, below, facts that from your experience
you know to be true?
Have you learned
not to trust your reasoning, senses and experiences with nature?
A. As part
of nature, in order to live people need, and receive the following
substances from the natural environment: water, air, food, materials,
sunlight energy, soil, plants, animals, minerals. To
mentally register them and benefit from them nature also gives
us many senses and sensitivities including those of sight, curiosity,
reason, thirst, consciousness, place, trust, belonging, touch
and community, along with 40 other natural senses.
B. In order
for something to be part of a social or natural system it somehow
must be in communication with the system. Otherwise it is disconnected
from and can not relate to or with the system.
C. As described
in A, above, people are part of nature's peace, our living global
ecosystem and its balanced perfection. To be part of it we must
be in communication with it and vice-versa. Do you know how we
are inherently in communication with nature and it with us? Do
you know how to benefit from safely strengthening, improving
and increasing this communication? You can easily learn and practice
this sensory skill through The Web of Life Imperative.
"As we
sense nature to be part of us and vice versa, we are less likely
to cause harm to our environment, for we discover and feel how
we are really harming ourselves."
.....- Participant's
Evaluation
D. We live
in an extremely nature-disconnected, indoor society, out of sensory
and intellectual communication with natural systems. Our non-organic
learning and psychology seldom appreciates, seeks or teaches
us balanced, nature-connected ways of thinking, learning and
relating, ways that help us heal the effects of our destructive
separation from nature. For example: organic thinking and practices
applied to food production avoid the heath hazards and environmental
immorality of techno-chemical agriculture and produce the benefits
of organic gardening, organic food and other organic products.
Organic thinking regarding our psyche and relationships helps
us increase the wellness of our thinking and relationships with
natural systems in ourselves, others and the environment.
"WLI helps
me trust my instincts, intuitions, and feelings of being attracted
to various parts of nature -- especially when I need an answer
to an important question."
.....- Participant's
Evaluation
E. As long
as our thinking, learning, psychology and consciousness are disconnected
from communication with natural systems, the systems and therefore
we suffer the disorders caused by our disconnection.
"The benefits
of WLI applies to both intrapersonal and interpersonal relations,
as well as our relationship to the natural world. The lessons
taught offer satisfaction and wholeness in our lives."
.....- Participant's
Evaluation
You may break
this destructive cycle for yourself and help those you love.
You can master the basics of Organic Psychology in 5-weeks or
less through The
Web of Life Imperative, or better still as part of its online, hands-on
course.
"WLI is
needed for all humans to become globally reconnected. It empowers
us to assist in our inherent mental and physical healing capabilities."
